About Me

A brief history:

I’m originally from Hong Kong, and spent some time in Switzerland before moving to the States for College. I graduated from Olin College of Engineering in 2019 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2019, and have been working as a Manufacturing Design/Test Engineer in the SF Bay Area since.

Work Experience:

  • Summer apprenticeships and internships:

    • Working as an aircraft maintenance trainee at a maintenance and re-fit facility for commercial airliners in Switzerland

    • Working as a part time remote QA intern for a CAD company

    • Composites fabrication and prototype design and manufacture at a robotics startup.

    • Structural and flame-penetration test design and validation, and aerodynamic load test design at a Part 23 aircraft manufacturer.

  • Full time roles:

    • 5 years as a Manufacturing Design and Test Engineer at Skydio, a drone company in the Bay Area, where I’ve worn many hats, launched 3 generations of product, and helped grow the company from a scrappy newcomer, to the largest small-drone manufacturer outside of China.

For examples of some work I can share, please feel free to check out the projects I worked on my projects tab, though do note that most of that work is from my College days.

A note on Aviation:

If I had to pick one part of my life that I’d genuinely call a passion, it would be Aviation. My Dad started taking me plane spotting before I was even a year old. My childhood bedroom is full of plastic plane models I built over the years. I got my Private Pilot’s License before I had ever driven a car. I share a Hangar as San Carlos (KSQL) airport with one of my roommates, and spend more money that I’d like to admit flying whenever I can.

I love things that fly. From the smallest of hobbyist quadcopters, to planes that end their callsign in “Super Heavy” on the radio, if you’re working on something Innovative in Aviation, please get in touch, I’d love to hear more.
